Providing low-income senior citizens, students and families with wifi connectivity and laptops
Due to covid-19, people across the country are asked to stay home for their health and the health of others. Unfortunately, 1 in 4 people do not have access to Wifi and/or a computer to stay connected virtually. Without these resources, vulnerable people are unable to access school work, employment opportunities, telemedicine, government updates, or even the ability to connect with loved ones.
We are reaching out to ask you for your help connecting low-income people - from students to senior citizens - to internet connectivity and a computer, so they have the same opportunities as the rest of us; to be safe and stay connected during COVID-19. human-I-T’s goal is to raise $10,000 to provide 80 people with a personal laptop, complete with 1 year of tech support and a 1-year warranty, and personalized support in signing up for an affordable WiFi connection ($15-25 per month). Every dollar donated helps bridge the digital divide, and provides someone with the digital resources they need to stay safe and informed during covid-19.
