human-I-T Press Release

3 things you can do to help students succeed in remote learning

Imagine being the only student in your high school math class who isn't able to attend virtual class from home, complete assignments, or study for finals because you don't have internet connectivity. That situation is now a reality for over 12 million low-income students who must study from home but cannot afford an internet connection. That means that 18% of students who do not have access to the internet at home need help ASAP.

Here are three ways you can help:

1. Donate to our fundraiser to cover the cost of hotspots for low-income students

A portable hot spot provides quick and easy access to broadband internet but has an upfront cost of $100 per device. human-I-T is looking to our community to help us raise at least $10,000. This will allow us to provide 100 low-income families with a hot spot within the next month, allowing students to complete school work and parents to work from home. If you do not have a Facebook, don't worry, you can also donate on our website!

2. Share the fundraiser on social media

Sharing this fundraiser with your network is also a big help! You can easily post our fundraiser on your social media channels, email it to your family, or message somebody you know who is very passionate about education!

3. Tell individuals who need our help to contact us!

We offer low-cost internet and affordable computers to anybody that can provide proof of low-income status. Here are some of the available options, which you can share with anyone in the US:

  • Low-Cost Internet: Please fill out this form, and our team will get back to you shortly to walk you through the application process.
  • Affordable Computers: Our store provides many options to purchase affordable computers so people can work and study from home, some as low as $55!
  • eBay Store: If you don't qualify for low-income status but still need help finding affordable computers and other technology, head over to our eBay store and browse the many low-cost options we have available there.

We appreciate any support you are able to provide. Even the littlest things have a greater impact than expected and provide life-changing opportunities to those who otherwise wouldn't have had them.

Thank you. Stay healthy and stay safe.
