In partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), human-I-T was able to provide 530 refurbished Chromebooks to low-income families with three or more school-aged children. Paired with one year of tech support and warranty from human-I-T as well as support in signing up for a low-cost internet plan, the Chromebooks provide students with a valuable resource they need to succeed in remote education.

human-I-T staff enjoyed personally delivering 50 of the Chromebooks with the HACLA team over Memorial Day weekend. Equipped with gloves and masks, each recipient household received their refurbished Chromebook, earbuds, and a flyer offering human-I-T’s support through a social distancing door-to-door visit. Students were thrilled to receive their Chromebooks!

A special thank you to Crown Castle and Visionary Women for making this partnership with HACLA possible. “As the current pandemic has shown, access to connectivity is a necessity for students, teachers and families to close the homework gap. We’re proud that our Connected by Good program could help support Human-I-T and ultimately 500-plus Los Angeles-area students in public housing with laptops, which will allow them to connect to the internet and continue to learn remotely,” concluded Mark Guillen, Public Affairs Manager for Crown Castle in the associated press release here.
